Service With a Smile!

1/27/10

For our Wednesday night activity, we wanted to do a service project. We pondered who we could serve in our ward and came up with a sister who was going through chemo. She had 2 small kids. The relief society was bringing in meals & already helping out, so we thought about what we could do. Sis. Bowman drove by their house one day & saw a bunch of leaves in the yard, so we decided to clean their yard & plant some fresh pansies because they make you smile. We had the girls meet us there at 4 right after school and we got to work. I'm sure we surprised the family when we broke out on their lawn with rakes & garbage bags. ;)

Even with the gloves, I had blisters the next day...My husband would say it's because I'm not used to work - LOLThe girls worked hard & we put the last bag away & planted the last flower right when it started getting dark. Perfect timing! Great work, ladies!Afterwards, we took the girls to Braums to get some ice cream. What a great group of girls we have!
